Entrance surround
Frame the main opening with decorative external profiles.

Architectural detail for entrances
Frame entrances with a lightweight exterior front door moulding or external door architrave as part of a coordinated facade scheme. Kayvic’s weatherproof profiles are made in South Wales and supplied UK-wide and to Ireland on a pallet, with about four weeks' lead time, no minimum order and free samples.
Entrance framing
An external door architrave frames the head and sides of an entrance, while the broader term door surround can describe the complete arrangement. These decorative profiles can give an exterior front door stronger proportion and architectural character. See deep profile cornice.
Pair entrance framing with external window architraves and surrounds to carry related detail across the facade.

A cohesive elevation
Carrying related profiles across door and window openings helps the facade read as one architectural scheme. Horizontal banding can then connect openings or divide sections of the elevation.
Frame the main opening with decorative external profiles.
Repeat architectural detail around other facade openings.
Finish roofline, soffit and fascia areas.
Carry horizontal lines across the elevation.
Material system
Kayvic external mouldings are made from lightweight polystyrene coated with a Hyper Polymer Coating. They give the look of traditional cement mouldings while being lighter, stronger and more durable.
The coating is waterproof, UV-resistant and impact-resistant for exterior use.
Choosing profiles
Browse all seven profiles in Kayvic’s external range rather than relying on invented door-specific kits. The Ammanford workshop can discuss your entrance, wider facade and project requirements, including bespoke enquiries where appropriate.
